I am very careful about writing any reviews unless I am convinced the show is worth listening to. After hearing Death don't have no mercy and Help-->slip--->Frank
...
I can only say wow! Most everything here is good and worth the time, but the Death thru Franklin is amazing. The guitar work alone is worth the time. Great, Great show!

well, joan can be replaced. she's a bit too vocal heavy. i'd love to see gwen stefani do the pegg-o ; ) otherwise, ... just a great band, great show and great sound. and god damn, was the hammerstein packed that nite. i couldn't move an inch.

this comment is incorrect. the sound is as clear and defined as an audience ... recording can be--as are the other two nights @ hammerstein from craig. fob here is 12(ish) row dfc. during the tour i listened to this set (3 shows) of recordings against a number of other sources from other shows of this tour and these slam 'em (relatively, of course). there are some hoots and clappin' and on one a guy offering me a life-saver loudly... and a few times(!)....but aside from those minimal intrusions, you're not gonna hear a better representation of the concert sound produced by this band.
i can assure all concerned that the equipment described here is the source of this recording. it is exactly as written and any semi-critical litener will hear what's what. it's really a 5+.

Anyway, thank you endlessly for the efforts of getting this gig onto the archive.
The ... Set 1 version of Birdsong is just staggering in its complexity and musicianship.
If you dont download the whole gig you are an idiot - but this Birdsong is amongst the best Ive heard post Jerry and is up there with the 1974 gigs - which as all deadheads know - were the ultimate Dead gigs. Another to add to my 24,600 hours of personal archives. Thanks so much
